  • What will my first session be like?

    In your first session, we'll take some time to get to know each other. We'll review some intake questions, and discuss anything that comes up (including goals, previous exercise experience, injuries, lifestyle considerations, etc). 


    Then we'll get moving! We will move through a few Pilates equipment pieces, selected to highlight movement patterns in your body, and understand where you are now, as well as giving you a taste of possibilities to come. 


    Pilates is about building a solid foundation and growing from there. In your first few sessions, you are laying groundwork for a practice that will bring you long-term benefits. 


    Often it takes several sessions to understand what kind of transformation Pilates can have on your body. 


    For that reason, we highly recommend starting with an intro pack of 3 private sessions (exclusively for new clients).

  • How fit/in shape/graceful must I be?

    The only prerequisite is that you have a genuine curiosity about learning to move your body better. Come as you are and we'll move and explore together. 


    At Equilibrium, we value radical acceptance, open-mindedness and empathy, free from judgment and full of curiosity. 


    And while it's true we have been practicing Pilates for a long time, Elizabeth is well-known for her clumsiness and lack of grace!

  • How long until I see results?

    Joseph Pilates said, "In 10 sessions you will feel a difference; in 20 sessions you will see a difference and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body."


    That said, everyone is different, and in radical acceptance, we recognize that each person's journey is their own. Your timeline will differ from the timelines of others. 


    Be confident in the knowledge that the benefits of Pilates come with time, curiosity and consistency. 

  • Can I come to Equilibrium if I.....

    YES! Pilates truly is for every body - that's why Equilibrium is so in love with the method.
